THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: 

The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in engineering, design, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of compute and storage devices that make up private cloud across multiple datacenters infrastructure.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: 

• Incident Management: Manages the prioritization and diagnosis of incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution. Manages the escalation of unresolved incidents. Coordinates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Manages the documentation and closure of resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
• Problem Management: Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s).  Leads the development of problem solutions. Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Evaluates patterns and trends.
• Change Management: Develops implementation plans for complex requests for change. Evaluates risks to the integrity of service environment inherent in proposed implementations (including availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted). Seeks authority for those activities, reviews the effectiveness of change implementation, suggests improvement to organizational procedures governing change management. Leads the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation of changes based on requests for change.

• Project Management: Defines, documents and carries out small projects. Carries out project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and documents activities against the project schedule, liaising with stakeholders as appropriate.
• Systems Integration: Designs and builds integration components and interfaces. Leads practical integration work under the technical direction of the system /service designer. Contributes to the overall design of the service and assesses the technical criteria for product or component selection.
• Business Process Improvement: Analyzes business processes; identifies alternative solutions, documents feasibility and recommends new approaches. Contributes to evaluating the factors which must be addressed in the change program. Helps establish requirements for the implementation of changes in the business process.
• Capacity Planning: Develops and maintains standards and procedures for service component capacity management. Pro-actively reviews information in conjunction with service level agreements to identify any capacity issues and specifies any required changes. 
• Customer Service Support: Liaises as the routine contact point, receiving and handling requests for support. Contributes to creation of support documentation.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Level 3 engineer with expertise in technology platforms such as SAN Storage, Cisco UCS, VMware. Plan, design, build, maintain platforms to help achieve the 24*7 uptime of the IT systems. Heavy troubleshooting of issues in IT systems as a Level 3 escalation.
• Design, Implement, manage, and maintain datacenter storage built on Pure, EMC (VMAX, XIO, Isilon) and HPE 3PAR storage platforms.
• Design, Implement, manage, and maintain datacenter compute environment built on CISCO UCS platform along with Tier-2 HCI solutions. (Cisco Hyperflex, Nutanix)
• Help design, implement, and manage VMware ESX virtualized environment as it pertains to Compute & Storage primary duties.
• Help plan and monitor Infra systems using tools such as VI (Virtana formerly Virtual Instruments, Turbonomic, SolarWinds)
• Manage and maintain existing datacenter compute environment built on HPE Synergy.
• Troubleshoot any issues that may arise in the datacenter environment across multiple platforms such as Pure-EMC-HPE Storage, CISCO UCS, HPE Synergy & VMware.
• Participate in planning and implementation of technologies at new & existing datacenters/distribution centers.
• Perform RCA of service disruptions, find fixes and apply patches, firmware upgrades to platforms working with vendors.
• Integrate with L1/L2 Infra Run team as part of escalation path for Compute/Storage issues. Also work with the same team who handles Rubrik backup/refresh requests.
• Integrate with Cloud Architecture & Automation teams to take part in plan/execute of annual DR tests for multiple applications hosted within Azure DRaaS.
• Create and maintain documentation of new system implementation, policies, and procedures such as CRs for CAB approval, Rack elevations and Platform Visio’s.
• Work and collaborate with different teams such as Cloud Architecture, across the enterprise to provide infrastructure support for multiple applications running across all datacenters along with AZURE cloud.
• Improve datacenter systems performance by fine tuning Cisco UCS based VMware virtual environment with Pure, HPE, EMC storage backend.
• Ability to work with team members from a variety of disciplines
• Ability to contribute to automation of Infrastructure (PowerShell, BigFix and Ansible)

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience
• 5+ years of progressive IT engineering experience in Storage, Compute, VMware and including Hardware Platform Administration
• Must have expert level knowledge in Storage and Compute Administration
• Strong experience in Windows Administration, Windows server 2012/2016/2019 and RHEL Administration are preferred.
• Demonstrate decision making, problem solving and analytical skills with attention given to detail and accuracy
• Strong team player with proven experience to collaborate with other server, network, storage engineers and administrators
• Excellent communication skills; feels comfortable working with non-technical business partners
• Able to follow-up, follow through and deliver quality and timely results
• Able to prioritize workloads and adjust schedule to meet deadlines
• Able to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and apply them to evolving business needs
• Off-hour’s support including 24x7 on-call required
• Minimal travel required (training/conferences)

 

The pay range for this position is $98000.00 - $166300.00 / Year with the opportunity to earn additional compensation pursuant with the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience level shift geographic location and business and organizational needs.
