Camp Program Staff will facilitate program areas and teach recreation and outdoor activities to adventure guides, scouts, church groups, and many other organizations. Training will include: how to teach recreation activities, team building, risk management, and customer service. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn to facilitate and lead camp activities (archery, kayaks, hikes, tomahawks, tye dye, arts & crafts and more)
- Grow your communication and leadership skills by working with all departments at camp, including kitchen, maintenance, and resident/day camp.
- Lead and participate in activities all throughout the day, including campfires, evening programs, and large group games.
- Be a professional liaison to assist in customer service at all times with any group at camp.
- Act as a positive role model for participants.
- Supports the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention and safety by completing all child abuse prevention training as required.
- Complete training's and certifications in First Aid/CPR.
- optional: YMCA Lifeguard Certification
- Maintain appearance of camp through cleanliness and set-up.
- Actively engage children and participants in activities.
- Report all injuries and incidences to the Camping Director
- Attend all Scheduled staff meetings and Trainings
- Display YMCA character values (Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibilities at all times.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
