THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The IT Portfolio Manager role is responsible for strategy, planning and execution of the strategic IT initiatives in supply chain or enterprise applications or Digital/E-Commerce areas working collaboratively with the Business, IT organization and Transformation Office to help ensure realization of business value from the delivery of projects and strategic programs. This role is part of the Transformation Office and will partner with enterprise change management and value realization teams to deliver portfolio outcomes.

 

This role is accountable for governance, execution, budget control and oversight of all projects and programs within assigned portfolio. With a strategic perspective, you’ll ensure greater visibility, alignment, and effective coordination of the priorities to help with the portfolio roadmap and resource capacity planning.

 

In addition, the IT Portfolio Manager leads and coaches high performing program/project managers and scrum masters and promotes consistent use and evolution of modern processes and tools including Agile transformation. IT Portfolio Manager must demonstrate a strong track record of leadership and influencing while successfully managing IT portfolio and programs in a Retail environment.

 

YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:  

IT Portfolio and Program Management

  • Partner with IT, Business and TO leadership to manage assigned portfolio intake including assessing, prioritizing and resourcing in alignment with portfolio and business goals
  • Create and maintain portfolio roadmaps reflecting continuous change to facilitate reallocation of resources to portfolio
  • Manage issues, risks and dependencies within assigned portfolio and across portfolios
  • Partner with IT and TO on managing portfolio budgets and financial reporting
  • Partner with enterprise change management to ensure organizational readiness to operationalize strategic programs

Resource Management

  • Plan, allocate and manage resources effectively to meet portfolio goals
  • Continuously analyze and optimize resource capacity (including people, financials, tools) using demand/supply forecasting techniques to minimize resource constraints for portfolio efficiency
  • Conduct impact analysis on capacity due to changes in mid-to-long term forecast demand partnering with IT/TO leadership

 

Portfolio Governance and Reporting

  • Track, analyze and report on critical Portfolio and program KPIs to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews at multiple levels to report progress and implement agreed improvements
  • Measure and monitor the portfolio performance against strategic priorities and business goals

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive adoption of and ensure adherence to PMO processes, standards and PPM tools
  • Create, maintain and improve project portfolio management practices and tools to drive a cohesive approach for consistency and efficiency
  • Help improve IT’s ability to leverage agile development at scale

 

Leadership and Relationship Management

  • Establish solid relationships with Business, IT and Transformation Office leadership and help them to articulate the technology needs that will advance business performance
  • Build and manage high performing team of program and project managers by defining clear roles and effectively assigning responsibilities to achieve portfolio objectives
  • Provide coaching and support for execution excellence and team development
  • Establish clear performance objectives with Strategic Portfolio Delivery team and monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, MIS or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT project portfolios in blended Agile and traditional PPM environments delivering strategic and complex programs in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert project portfolio management skills including planning, estimating, cost-benefit analysis, tracking, resourcing, and issues, risk and change management
  • Strong experience in execution of programs in supply chain or enterprise applications or Digital/E-Commerce areas
  • Resource management experience in a matrixed organization
  • Strong knowledge of system and software SDLC, PMO and leading practices and methodologies
  • Project management and Agile certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe, CSM, CSPO, etc.)
  • Experience with modern PPM tools such as Planview, JIRA, etc.
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring program and project managers
  • Highly collaborative with proven ability to build relationships across IT and Business stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including ability to share ideas and information across diverse audiences to drive to business decisions.
  • Able to partner with and manage 3rd party providers to deliver maximum success.
  • Understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement
  • Retail industry experience
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment
  • Minimal travel required (training/conferences)


 

The pay range for this position is $113600.00 - $193400.00 / Year with the opportunity to earn additional compensation pursuant with the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience level shift geographic location and business and organizational needs.
